Helping single mothers and COVID impacted Widows

The damage caused by COVID on widows of husbands who died due to COVID, micro-nano and small businesses and migrant workers has been crippling. The widows who have been conditioned to believe only the husband is capable of working had made them scared to talk to strangers and leave their huts. After the new financial responsibilities were on their shoulders, they were lost but YAF has made them confident as they venture out to other states to do business and become role models. YAF has helped over 500 such women.

Vandana Kamble from Tadavle Village, Satara had to do the above as her late husband passed away due to COVID and all the house's responsibilities were on her shoulders. After she faced what is written in the first paragraph, YAF helped transform her. Desperation to save her husband's life led to innovation, not being able to afford hospital expenses pushed her to curate recipes with ayurvedic ingredients that cured his symptoms of blood cancer, breathlessness and bone weakness in just 4 months. She wants to help many people with different diseases and earn money by creating a brand and business as after COVID made her a widow, all expenses were left on her.
