Jaya helped 10k Villagers through 'CRC'

She used to give up on all her aspirations due to the fear of her heart problem. She says YAF and UPS have given her the strength to think beyond her disability and follow her dream of starting a business.
Most of YAF’s participants have been used to living under other people’s instructions all their lives and if we simply tell them what to do or give them a business idea, the cycle of dependent thinking will never break. Therefore to give them the freedom to take control of their thought process, we ask them to identify a problem, frustration and need of the people around or market and use that to create a business plan. This process of identifying involves moving out of comfort zones and that's where evolution begins. Through her services she has prevented lifelong debt, poverty reservations, helped farmers avail schemes and many more by filing legal documents for them.
Jaya Vele from a village in Satara followed this with all her heart which is why success followed. Before her venture residents of 3 villages around her had to travel 18 kms all the way to Satara city to apply and receive legal documents like Udyog Adhar card, pan card, licence, income certificate, e - SHRAM card and others. Now she provides these services through her business. This effort mentioned above discourages many to even obtain these very important documents. Working as a Gram Panchayat operator Jaya was already equipped with the technicalities of filing these documents. She knew the problem that not many people had the motivation to file the documents but YAF taught her how to bring that behaviour change (the deeper problem) “I was in need of money for my children's education and care for my old mother, YAF and UPS showed me that the same effort I make at my job, if I use that in a business of my own I can earn more money. My skills were going to waste,” she said. Following are a few steps that helped her convert her skill into a business:
Creating demand: At her job as a gram panchayat officer she just had to file applications. Now she has to convince people to apply. “After the Entrepreneurship Development Program by YAF and UPS, I learnt how to approach villagers with empathy and explain to them how these schemes will increase the quality of their lives, giving awareness to those who would have missed out on the benefits,” she said. Creating interest and curiosity in the people has drawn many of them to Jaya’s services.
Communication and anticipating further needs: “At my job I just used to hurry things up and the only communication was taking details and calling for the next applicant. Now to increase my sales I ask them questions related to their lifestyle, income and awareness so that I can suggest other services. Anticipating further needs by this method is what I learn from YAF and UPS,” she added.
Loan for Laptop: Her heart condition always stopped her from making the effort to buy a laptop, but after YAF and UPS’s training she got the strength and knowledge to procure good loans for the purchase. The difference between good and bad loans are underlined so that they do not fall into debt traps that ruin lives. “ I am proud to own my first laptop and the steps shown to easily return the money have removed all attached anxieties,” she said.

Customer relations: “I was taught how to keep in constant touch with customers by following up. When someone makes an initial inquiry and does not get back, I am the one who calls to remind them. Many times this reminder has increased my sales.” she said.
“I only want to move ahead so I can provide the best for my children and my mother who is elderly. I live with my mother and she is now very proud of me for what I have achieved after training.” she ended by saying.
